GEORGE
George hasn’t got over the loss of the Ryemouth Shipyard, and the job he had there for years. But he has plenty to keep him occupied. Not least keeping a close eye on his daughter’s boyfriend! Just what is Dave up to?

MARY
Mary is the one everybody comes to with their problems. That includes husband George and daughter Susan. She also has wise words for lifelong-friend Ruby. Will Ruby listen to Mary’s voice of common sense?

SUSAN
Susan is making a new life for herself with boyfriend Dave. She’s the assistant manager at the new deli and cafe, and is determined to make it a success. But can she get the two most important men in her life to trust each other?

Paul was Ruby’s teenage crush. He’s back in Ryemouth with big plans for the future. How will Ruby react when he tells her about “the one fly in the ointment”?
